Ethical AI: Educate and Innovate (Erasmus+)
Institution: University of Costa Rica
What it is
Erasmus+ project (No. 101179117) coordinated by the Development Observatory (CIOdD) that builds a transnational framework for ethical AI governance in higher education, with a toolkit for educators and a permanent reflection forum.
Verified results
Consortium of 9 institutions across 4 countries. International workshops with 50+ participants in January 2026, published toolkit, and documented influence on institutional policies (including UNED’s AI policy approved on September 4, 2025).
Context
The only Erasmus+ project with Costa Rican leadership on ethical AI governance in higher education. It fills a gap ENIA recognizes but does not implement: formal frameworks for ethical use in the public sector, particularly in state universities that train future civil servants.
